Back to scenery

Image
Back to adding more scenery to the town.  These are Vesna sculpts, printed for me by Warhammer Rose Studios. Above are notice boards and roadsigns.  The signposts make nice exit point markers.  You’ll start to spot ravens throughout the town if you look from now on, and I also have some nice cats to use too. Then a couple of trade stands, these also come with some empty benches I can use to display various spare parts from my kitbashing box later. Finally for now a nice pie cart that goes well with the Midlam pie maker miniature.

Welcome to the War Room

Work in progress, but the 2m x 1m table works well for playtesting.  This weekend was so wet and miserable that it was perfect for a couple of games of Guards of Traitors Toll.  The Frontier Wargaming Paint Case remains in easy reach just in case I feel the urge. Details of these Missions are still under wraps I’m afraid, but some fun incidents included a chase through a building, a belligerent drunk, guards being hampered by a large crowd watching the dancing bear, a fleeing suspect getting stuck in a cul-de-sac, a couple of lovely bits of teamwork, and one guard who always seemed to wander off directly away from where I wanted him to go!

More Building Work

Furthest along after the Townhouse is the Tavern above, with a few progress steps below. Core is again waste polystyrene packing.  XPS chimney.  Foam card for the roof supports. New mix for the daub with a rougher texture that I like. Next along is the church.  XPS for the first floor, carved with a pencil. Sprayed with special Army Painter Terrain primer. Traitors Toll has rules for buildings with balconies, so the next two will have some.

No longer secret

There’s plenty of information appearing publicly now, including on an official Facebook group -  https://www.facebook.com/groups/traitorstoll  - so while adding more photos I have also renamed the Page that was just called Project 3 to the official title of the game I have been playtesting for Graham Davey - Guards of Traitors Toll.  You can see another testing session in the photo above.   Between this, ongoing stuff for Ivan Sorensen, the other game that is still under wraps, my ongoing campaign for Five Leagues from the Borderland, I am happy to report that a year on from returning to the tabletop gaming world, I am having a blast! So much so that I am  now setting up a permanent space, rather than just taking over the dining table every weekend.  More on that next time, I’m sure.
