Sprues and bases

A quick shout out to Wargames Emporium -  https://www.wargamesemporium.co.uk/   - and Headbunny Games -  https://headbunny.games/   - both based in the UK. The former do plastics by the Sprue, which really works for me.  For example, this squad of Security Officers are from two sprues of Stargrave Troopers.  I also got two of Crew 1, one of Crew 2, one each of the two Mercenary sprues and two of the new Automatons.  Those with the two full box sets of Scavenger 1 and 2 provide all I need for Call Security.   The latter do those lovely bases that I think work really well for this.  They also do sci-fi terrain and some fun robots, all of which is currently on the workbench.

Call Security!

Ever wondered who keeps the peace in those space stations that are a home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers? Ever considered who is responsible for the safety of the humans and aliens who are wrapped in two million five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal, all alone in the night? Ever thought about just who it is that comes running when someone in charge shouts “Call Security!” Well now you know … it’s you!   And so opens the first of the games. I’ve added a bit more detail to the page -  https://horrendousgaming.blogspot.com/p/horrendous-gamings-solo-tabletop.html  - and if you are at all interested in how things progress, you can get the latest there. Meanwhile I’ve started knocking up my own space station as shown at the top.  Simple but effective I think.  I’m dithering over whether to add partial height walls, we’ll see. I’m also working on the figures, I got a load of individual Stargrave sprues from Warg...

I’ve been thinking, oh oh!

I’m going to ramble a bit I’m afraid, so here’s some pictures, feel free to stop reading after the sheep.  For Christmas I got this lovely pastoral set of 3D prints that I got around to painting as therapy while my brain was churning on the other stuff, hence the sheep. I also finished some more terrain pieces for post apocalypse.  The walls are printed card over foamboard again.  Renedra oil drums again.  And a fun kit of stuff for the tires. I also knocked this guy up from a Traitor’s Toll guard and an 0200 hours guard dog. You know how much I love playing with plastic kits, so the Stargrave Scavengers boxes 1 and 2 I got for my birthday have had 1 sprue from each turned into Nomads for 5Klicks. And finally … sheep! So what had me churning so much that I felt painting sheep was a good idea?  I was thinking through the different campaigns I have on the go at the moment and wondering why I wasn’t getting excited about which game to put on the table next. ...

Klicking

Plenty of painting going on, but nothing finished.   I also started thinking about something that I am keeping under wraps right now, but it is sci fi, it’s all my own work rather than a “Five” variant, but is a solo adventure wargaming campaign, and I’ll be looking for playtesters at some point. What I did do though is play through some more 5 Klicks turns, so head on over to that page if these photos whet your appetite.
