A full campaign
Today I played the fifteenth game of Protect and Survive, bringing to a conclusion the first Story Arc in the rules. If you didn’t know already, you can read about the 15 games HERE.
I’m pleased to say that it completely met my expectations. Challenging but not to the point where our heroes stop feeling like heroes, long enough to get engaged and want to see it through but not to the point where playing becomes a chore, and random enough to keep things interesting, but not to point where I got tired of things going off plan.
I will play it again too, so that’s an indicator that it fulfilled my purpose, though I think the optional rule for wandering monsters should be main rule (like I did in the Fantasy edition). That may be a little while though as I really want to play through the pirate campaign, the fantasy one, and start an sf one!
That said I already have plans to add a more involved Arc 7 to Protect and Survive, so I’ll probably then want to play through that.
I’m getting snippets of feedback from others and I know a few games have been played, but nothing concrete which is a shame.
