Eclectic
It has been a very eclectic weekend although the eight more citizens of Traitor’s Toll are the only physical thing I have to show for it. I am now working on scenario specific figures and the last few gaps on the Identify card, as the plan is to get my campaign started in May. No spoilers though, you’ll have to wait for the game write-ups to find out where some of these fit, like that lady with the blood on her hand.
However, because it was such lovely weather (in Berkshire, UK anyway, sorry if not so where you are) I spent most of my time on various rules sets for Nordic Weasel, enjoying the sunshine.
I started with the basic bones of Chapter 3 of Five Klicks from the Zone. Ivan is currently working his way through the new Second Edition of Chapter 1, and it’s been awhile since I finished drafting Chapter 2, so the ideas rolling around in my head for Chapter 3 were demanding to be written down.
Then Ivan pinged me about his latest revisions to Rogue Hammer and I had a few sessions with the army lists and a spreadsheet to look at the points balancing.
Then the EKPS rules were published on Wargames Vault and as these are the basis for my Dernlands fantasy campaign, I went through making sure everything in that was up to date. I highly recommend these rules for anyone looking to get a fantasy skirmish game together with about 30 figures per side. There are 14 different races accounted for so far and as this is a direct NW publication, buy it now and you’ll get the updates from now on for free as they drop via the Wargames Vault system.
Firstly, I have admitted to myself that will probably never play The Silver Bayonet, so my Sharpe’s Rifles page has been re-written as a Five Kilometres from Leipzig page. There will be more as I enjoyed working on the rules and have my eye on the lovely Battle Honours figures for French and for Spanish Partisans that will make a great campaign.
Secondly, if you came to this Blog from posts I did on Facebook, no point in looking for me there anymore. I have found myself getting so annoyed at what seems to me pointless comments from people who:
a) seem to be incapable of making their own decisions and are looking for someone else to tell them what to think, and that needs to be in the form of a video apparently.
b) can’t be bothered to read what people have already written, so keeping asking the same questions over and over again
c) appear to be playing a game of “daddy, daddy, look at me!” with comments that are designed to pick fault, show how much more clever they are than the designer (not), or want to show off stuff they already have that has nothing to do with the game.
In an act of pure mental defence I have withdrawn from all groups and the urge to post anything myself anymore.
If you continue to read my stuff here, or found me on LAF or the Nordic Weasel Discord and followed me here, you are obviously a much more discerning gamer and human being, and I don’t mean you above, and indeed I salute you!
