Infilling

I have realised that my painting follows a bit of a process these days. I like to work in batches, I don’t like doing too many of one thing at the same time, and I like to have a bunch of stuff ready to varnish ay the same time as a bunch to prime, so I set up my mini spray booth less often. So today saw me finishing off a bunch of stuff.

Above on the left is another sprue of Gnolls. I originally was working with units of 6 but for my new campaign I have gone for 8s so I need to fill some gaps. The existing units are wearing a mix of colours but as each of these were for a different unit I could paint them all the same. The slinger is my favourite, I do really enjoy getting interesting poses out of plastic kits. I also enjoy mixing kits, there are no slingers on the Frostgrave Gnoll sprues, or that shield, or that mace!

The Dragonkin is a 3D print I’ve had kicking around as I bought four at one point and didn’t paint them all. The skeletons are one sprue of Wargames Atlantic as I needed two more javelins to add to the unit I made out of their Chariots box. Turns out they are a little taller than the other kit, I have no idea why, but they’ll look okay.

Then below we have 10 Great Escape Games plastic Gunfighters. Again a fun plastic kit and yet I couldn’t resist make a few minor changes anyway. The kneeling mountain man (front middle) is a Victrix Viking head, the rear middle figure has a GOTT Townsfolk head.

Meanwhile the gaming goes on, here’s the setup for the next Plunder and Fighting game. My fabulous wife took my “I want to play on a ship, but the ones to scale are too small to play the same way as the other 3 x 3 layouts in the rules” comment and built a ship with a playable area thats 3 feet long!

  1. Great progress on stuff -- for both you and your wife! That ship is a beauty and it should be a lot of fun to play on...
