Leftovers

While I was waiting for my pirates to arrive I went through my leftovers to find things to do.  Then the pirate order arrived (thanks North Star for getting them out just before your move) so I moved over to that crew, but after that, as well as the remaining metal pirates, I got the other stuff finished.

So above we have some Oathmark Dwarves.  When I was making Post Apocalypse figures with improvised weapons from Stargrave kits, I found a note by North Star suggesting the use of tools off the dwarf light infantry sprues.  I bought a single sprue from Wargames Emporium but of course there were five bodies and plenty of other arms.  So five random dwarves, including one as a civilian for Guards of Traitor’s Toll.

Also in my spares box with that sprue was some leftover Orc Heavies bodies, and in Protect and Survive I have the concept of “scrap armour”.  Orc bodies, Stargrave arms and heads, perfect!

Then back to the pirates.  The metal figures came in sets and I ended up with more than I needed for the crew, including some that will work as bystanders.  I also had a thought about using a couple of Ghost Archipelago bodies with left over GoTT arms for bystanders, so here’s the first few Adversaries, including the rival pirate captain, and the first set of Bystanders.

18 more Adversary pirates/thugs to go, plus some Military type Adversaries, plus a cabin boy and a couple more Bystanders I think.  Then there’s the Post Apocalypse Bystanders and Adversaries with improvised and melee weapons to round that project off.  Oh and I’m already planning my Wild West figures!  Stay tuned if any of that sounds at all interesting, but either way I appreciate you stopping by.

  1. Will there be military types of warships for the pirates to contend with?

    1. Three types of Adversaries - locals guarding warehouses and shipments, other pirate crews, and yes indeed the military. Four different levels of each type, with different profiles and weapons. But no ship to ship combat I’m afraid, it’s single figure skirmish stuff.

    2. Thanks for the response. Skirmishes can be boarding actions, ports and towns...a lot of areas to battle in.

    3. The full set of locales is in fact - shipboard, harbour, town, inn outside town, valley, woodland, and a camp.
