Game 2

 


Game 2 of my Protect and Survive campaign is now posted to that page.  A pack of six big cats chased some people over the bridge and the Response Team had to go and deal with them.  Two of the team took a mauling, they broke another weapon, and they gained nothing at all.  Oh and they lost one of the civilians too, so not what you would call a resounding success!

In the meantime as I’ve used 0200 Hours British as my Response Team, I painted up some 0200  Hours Germans as a Warlord and their Militia troops.


I have also finished editing the game rules and am all set to publish, though probably waiting until next week.


Plus, having been distracted for long enough, I’m all set up now for the Guards of Traitor’s Toll Mission 2.

So it begins

Back in October 2023, I took a look at my life and realised that outside of working I had nothing much I enjoyed doing and I was pretty much wasting my weekends away.  I recalled my long ago love for tabletop wargaming and roleplaying, and wondered whether I could rekindle that. Why I enjoy plastic kits

  In my round up of 2024 I mentioned my joy working with hard plastic kits, and while working my way through the box of British Riflemen for my The Very Sharpe Silver Bayonet (TVSSB) campaign I thought I’d talk through why, and my process for dealing with them. The picture above may not look particularly interesting until you realise that none of them are actually straight off the sprue, and that’s not something you can do with metal or a resin print.  The Rifles box enables 32 figures, but only has 4 different bodies, and yet with the mix of arms and heads there’s a lot of different poses available.  Then on top of that, with a little imagination and work, you can push things beyond the sprue. So first up the tools you’ll need.  I really suggest investing in a decent pair of side snips for removing parts from sprues.  Like these for example, but of course other brands and indeed non-branded ones are available!
